FRAGMENTS
شظايا
Fragments is the result of a collaboration between Jenin's Fragments Theater and the photographer Gianluca Lanciai to give voice to the visual testimonies of young artists living in the West Bank in the context of the ongoing conflict. The artists began by capturing images with their smartphones, gradually switching to borrowed cameras to complete their projects.
With "Fragments," the goal is not just to capture moments of hardship, but rather to preserve the essence of these narratives: stories of families, landscapes that hold memories, dreams, and aspirations that persist despite adversity. These visual testimonies serve as reminders of the resilience of the human spirit amid conflict and turbulence.
Preserving these narratives is not just an act of documentation; it is an act of honoring identity, culture, and, ultimately, hope. In a world where the noise of conflict might otherwise drown out these voices, "Fragments" stands as a beacon of light, advocating the importance of witnessing and honoring the stories of those whose voices deserve to be heard now more than ever.

Aram Wildali - The Hope Lake
In the West Bank village of Sanur, nestled within the Jenin district, a seasonal lake emerges during the rainy season, between February and June. This place reminds us that even in the darkest times, beauty can be found.

Batool Abuhasan - Nostalgia
Living in the West Bank, children grow up faster and stronger, but they often feel lost. In those moments when I see my shadow reflected, I see my past and my present, between restlessness and dreams.

Mojahed Shriteh - Masafer Yatta
Masafer Yatta is a cluster of rural Palestinian villages, referred to as amulets, in the South Hebron Hills, part of Area C in the West Bank. Since the 1980s, the IDF has claimed part of this land as a Firing Zone, aiming to evict the residents, mostly shepherds and farmers.
